Our STORY: Rabbit - 1963 [Unite Kenya] Ft Tim Rimbui & Kanana

Our STORY...

We seem to excuse our apathy and that of our leaders when  it comes to our own National Identity. Do we realize the cost that was paid for us to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy? Do we live the lives others laid their lives down for? Am I KENYA? The Kenya that was envisioned by our fore fathers?

God forgive us for abusing that heavy price that was paid.

KENYA!!!

I never understand why we(Kenyans) claim to be democratic and fair yet we can't stand up for/or support when one of us takes a stand and decides that he will seek legal redress from the SCOF (Supreme Court of Kenya)!? It's like we pretend to be good while we are really monster's inside. The fact that some of us have a problem with Hon. Raila Odinga going to court over discrepancies in the electoral process ought to tell you that YOU are the biggest problem to the development of a country you soooo LOVE to proclaim undying patriotism to.

So please desist from hurling insults and unsavory comments.

I'm excited to see how it all rolls out and where we go from there as a Nation.

One thing is sure, this country will Never be the Same Again!

ANOTHER OPEN LETTER

Dear,
Mr. PRESIDENT, THE RIGHT HONORABLE PRIME MINISTER, MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT, SPEAKER OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND EVERY FREE KENYAN CITIZEN.

I write to you free happy citizens, to those who live in the house on the Hill, to those who go about their day's enjoying their undeniable freedoms for movement,  purchase of property and to live secure. I write to you who enjoy the freedom's that have been denied to me, I write to you who don't care what happen's to me and my family, I write to you who have human hearts beating within them.
I write to Men and Women, free and strong, those who the world stops for....those who cars are stopped; so that they can move from point A and B.
I write with a heavy heart....DEAD AND COLD!
Within the last few day's I've lost all that matters to me as a human being. My family, my property and the very dignity of living like a human being. We have witnessed what no human being should be subjected to! While you Mr.president(PM,MP,SOTNA) had your breakfast meal, I lost my wife and children, while you sipped your afternoon tea, all that I had worked for was either stolen or destroyed. In a few day my community or rather what used to be my community was no more. As Traffic was being stopped for you, we lost everything that gave us a sense of belonging.
I no longer know who I am, or where I'll end up. I have no hope for the future or the desire to live it. You Sir(President/Prime Minister) have failed me.
Have you already forgotten about me? You promised to protect me, my property and my freedoms!
Did you mean it when you said that?
HOW MANY MORE MUST DIE MR.PRESIDENT/PRIME MINISTER?
HOW MUCH MORE MUST I ENDURE?
WHEN WILL YOU RESTORE MY COMMUNITY?
AT WHAT COST.....AT WHAT COST!!!

Signed,
A Bereaved Kenyan

Member of Parliament/Mr.(s) President/Governor etc

All the leaders that were involved directly or indirectly in the post elections violence that rocked this country in 2007/2008 should do the honorable thing and silently bow out of the upcoming general elections. Be it for presidency or the lowest public office! People died, Blood was Shed, women were raped, mothers abused, children emotionally mutilated and others will never be the same again just because a few individuals wanted power!
Why do we forget this very important factor....why do we want our nation to bleed itself dry? How much more should happen before we wake up to this reality!? That this country needs true leaders if we are to survive and live a Nation, free and prosperous for our children!
I demand that if they love this Nation at all, as they claim to then they must leave public service! Do the honorable thing and leave a Legacy never to be erased but to always be admired by those who come after you. Do the right thing!!!!!

OUR FUTURE!!!!!!!

We have witnessed in one way or the other what happens to Nations that are plunged into chaos, especially political and ethnic ones. We have had a front row seat to the horrors of conflict in our continent, seen the devastation it leaves, seen the emptiness it subjects its citizens to and the pain it leaves behind forever.
Yet we pretend and hide behind the mask of amnesia...pretending that we didn't maim, kill, rape and burn our fellow brothers!
We abuse those that died by our ignorance, we disrespect the cost they paid, the suffering they went through. We spit on the faces of their families, we make their surviving children, fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters silent outcasts in their own Nation.

WE DISRESPECT OUR FUTURE, PAST AND HISTORY! WE DISRESPECT THOSE THAT DIED! THOSE THAT PAID A HEAVY PRICE(with their own lives)! AND THOSE THAT SUFFERED THE CONSEQUENCES!

I demand that our so called 'leaders' step away from leadership. Are we soo blinded? Or are we just foolish stupid Africans? We have been called many things, as a continent and as a people, but I refuse to give voice to those sentiments. I refuse to sit on my hands and do nothing!

My future is mine to dictate. Our future is ours!
Will we be quick to forget those that died for the greed of a few?
Will we say that we should forget and move on? Lying to ourselves that we can sweep this under the table?
History will judge us cruelly. History will not forget!
Those that paid others to commit those crimes, those that committed the crimes, where are they to ask for forgiveness? Where are they to show their remorse?

I've always wanted to ask My. James Orengo and the former AG Amos Wako what kind of pens they used when they signed The National Accord? I will tell you what kind of pen and Ink I think was used.....

  • It had a black cover to signify who we are (we are all kenyans)
  • It had an ugly distorted writing point- to signify those that died, those that were raped, those that were burned and those who were scarred for life!
  • And it wrote in red ink- to signify the blood that was shed!!!!!
  • The paper they signed was the unifying conscience of Kenyans.....we shall Never Forget! And Never Again
  •  That a few individuals claiming to be real Kenyans' took us to the brink of Hell itself!
Let Historians write and say that we Rose Up again! That from our ashes we saw our future and did something about it!That we refused to listen and be led by hypocritical men, that those whose price and cost was the blood of our brothers and sisters never looked up with pride or even courage, but knew and repented of their faults, that they walked with shame and disgrace. That they walked through their life with a heavy conscience.

I REFUSE TO LISTEN TO MEN AND WOMEN WITH BLOODY HANDS!

I REFUSE TO FOLLOW INDIVIDUALS WHOSE WORTH IS THE COIN AND CURRENCY OF SOMEONES ELSE'S LIFE!
WE REFUSE! I REFUSE! OUR CHILDREN REFUSE!

May we never forget that;

LOST

I was one of those guys who were totally and completely captivated by the series 'LOST'....it told a story of guys involved in a plane crash who were not sure if they were dead, stuck on an Island or even in Hell. The reason why I loved this show was because it simply made me ask myself some serious questions. Questions that both scared me and excited me. But that's not why I brought this up, my reason is because of how those 'Survivors' had to live and survive each other and their new reality. Now some guys ignored the obvious, others questioned the 'Island' and others just weren't sure if they were dead or alive!!!
If you ask me, that is where Kenya is as a country. We are a 'LOST' bunch!
If we are ready and willing to follow, listen and believe 'The Men/women in Charge' then we are either dead, in hell or just plain stupid. We have allowed ourselves to be enslaved by individuals who have in some way convinced us that they are the only ones who can lead us, make 'sound' decisions for us, represent us and go as far as dictate to us what we need and want.
We need to wake up to our REALITY.....we as a people and as a Nation are lost, we will soon have no country to call our own if we continue to believe, follow, fight for and kill for the so called 'PEOPLE IN CHARGE'
We need to see things as they really are....our leaders are common thieves and cheats!!!!!
Choose wisely and become "MWENYE INCHI"

Balala Sacking

I'm still in shock over the sacking of cabinet minister Najib Balala. He did more for the tourism sector in this country more than any other so called 'kenyan friend' in our history. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean you can't or won't perform in whatever docket one is placed in. Mr. Balala proved that his politics did not interfere with his responsibilities, while the right honorable Prime Minister just clearly showed that his politics do interfere with His mandate! When will we get tired of cabinet post's being dished out to political allies....Balala did his job and that is what we should be focused on. Don't even get me started on the other appointments.
Fools is what they take us to be, and at times when someone thinks of you as a fool, there must be reason to it. Question is, have we given our political leaders reason to think of us as FOOLS!?
